SCROLLSCROLLA

The story behind the voice

Born and raised in Uppsala, Sweden, I discovered early that music would play a central role in my life. It started with drama productions — then came the teenage band, the dreams of arena shows, and a passion for singing that has never left me.

Between 1988 and 1994 I studied with vocal coach Ulla Atterclev in Stockholm, building the technical foundation I still rely on in the continuing journey of singing today. I have fronted the cover band Bulldog for over 20 years, performing extensively throughout Sweden and Finland, and have shared stages with artists including Patrik Isaksson, Micke Rickfors, Tommy Körberg, Håkan Hemlin, Nanne Grönvall, Anne-Lie Rydé, Jan Johansen, Timo Räisänen, Martin Westerstrand (Lillasyster), Ville Tuomi (Leningrad Cowboys), Dag Finn (Sha-Boom), Conny Bloom (Electric Boys), Dan Reed (Dan Reed Network), Ralf Gyllenhammar (Mustasch) and Nicke Borg (Hellacopters).

"I believe music is fun and can cross borders between people — reaching straight to the inner soul."

I have been fortunate to fully experience the joy of collaborating with remarkable artists in a wide range of live and studio environments — and to be part of the creative process of making music. Studio credits, in chronological order:

  • 15 on 1 — Three Mile Smile (1992)
  • 15 on 1 Twice — Mother Groove (1993)
  • Scandinavia Calling — Three Mile Smile, Bums Records (1992)
  • Statoil commercial — broadcast on Swedish radio, TV and cinema throughout the 1990s. A fun note: years later Jan Johansen recorded the new version when Statoil became Circle K. We've had a good laugh about that.
  • "Do Dem Slow Songs" EP — Johan Steensland (1999)
  • Sonic Boulevard — Tomas Bodin (2000)
  • Choir vocals on Shadowland — Nocturnal Rites (2002)
  • Backing vocals on "Sail Away" — Annika Ljungberg, Melodifestivalen (2002)
  • IAM — Tomas Bodin (2005)
  • Choir vocals on "Maria Magdalena" — Betty N Boop (Spotify)
  • Demo recordings with It's Alive
  • Lead vocals on the theme song of the film The Curiosity of Chance
  • Various unreleased projects

In 1999 I studied at Wiks folkhögskola and in 2001 attended the songwriting programme at Kulturama in Stockholm.
